SIPTU Considers Timing And Nature Of Aer Lingus Action

SIPTU officials are to meet to decide on the timing and form of industrial action at Aer Lingus.

It follows the breakdown of talks on the deficit in the joint pension scheme at the airline and the Dublin Airport Authority.

The Labour Relations Commission adjourned the discussions, involving management and unions, indefinitely.

SIPTU says industrial action at Aer Lingus is the only remaining option for staff.

But it says talks are continuing with the Dublin Airport Authority and there is no threat of industrial action at the DAA at this time.
