Louth Man Pleads Guilty To Manslaughter
A Louth man accused of killing 18-year-old Niall Dorr in Dundalk over two years ago is to be sentenced in mind-December.
36-year-old Douglas Ward pleaded guilty to manslaughter, but not guilty to murder.
His plea has been accepted by the Central Criminal Court by lawyers representing the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Mr Dorr was attacked while he was walking home with pals at Castle Road on 14 October 2010.
Ward has been remanded in custody until he is to be sentenced on 17th December.

A man has been jailed for 16 years for killing a teenager in Dundalk two years ago. 37-year-old father of for Douglas Ward, of Loughantarve, Knockbridge, Co Louth, admitted manslaughter. 18-year-old Niall Dorr was killed when he tried to break up a row involving Mr Ward. Ward then attacked Mr Dorr, kicking him in the head.

Cork Man Pleads Guilty To Killing Protected Red Deer
A 37-year-old Cork man has pleaded guilty to shooting a protected red deer stag and cutting it in half. Gardaí confirmed that Richard Cullinane, of Lisnacon, Kanturk, Co Cork, was traced after took the front half of the animal to a taxidermist as he wanted it monuted as a hunting trophy.

The Jury acquitted Peter Clarke, 38, a former City of London policeman, after evidence from a Central Mental Hospital Director revealed Clarke was suffering from “paranoid schizophrenia”.

A Dublin man has admitted killing an English motorist who died in a road rage incident in Sandymount. Karl Donohoe, 30, pleaded guilty today to the manslaughter of Raymond Bates in September 2010. Mr Bates, 49, who was working for a construction firm at the time, was beaten with a hurley stick after an argument with another motorist.

A Sydney man who was accused of killing a man from Dublin has been found not guilty of manslaughter. Irish backpacker, Gearoid Walsh, 23, died after being punched outside a takeaway in Sydney in October 2009. Tobias Simmons, 30, previously pleaded not guilty on the grounds of self-defence.
