Man Charged With Manslaughter Of 12-Year-Old
A man has been charged in connection with the death of a 12-year-old boy in Tallaght, 11 years ago.
52-year-old Dermot Griffin has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court next Wednesday, 7 November.
Griffin of Ballyfermot Road appeared before Tallaght District Court this morning charged with the manslaughter of Stephen Hughes Connors.
Stephen died when a makeshift hut he and his friend were sleeping in was set on fire.
An application for legal aid was granted.

News that funding of more than €600,000 has been secured for Kerry Airport has been welcomed, with Fine Gael saying that it highlights "the importance of Kerry Regional Airport as a primary transport link." The news came as part of an announcement of €2 million funding for regional airports, made by Minister for Transport Paschal Donohoe.

On-Duty Firefighter Arrested On Suspicion Of Drink Driving
A fireman has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving while on duty behind the wheel of a fire engine. The man was driving a fire truck on the Callan Road, Kilkenny over the weekend and approached a checkpoint. It is believed he was returning from an emergency incident and failed a breath test. He was issued a fixed charged penalty notice.

A 34-year-old man has been charged in connection with a robbery at a service station in Cookstown, Tallaght. The incident happened at a premises on the Belgard Road just before 8.30pm on Sunday. A man, armed with a syringe, entered the service station and threatened staff before fleeing the scene with a small sum of cash.
