Work To Begin On Ballaghaderreen Bypass

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar will turn the sod on the Ballaghaderreen bypass on the Mayo-Roscommon border at 3pm today.

Work will officially begin on the project on the N5 as soon as the sod turning ceremony is finished.

The bypass is to cost approximately €60m.

Planning Permission Refused For Slane Bypass
An Bord Pleanála has refused planning permission for the Slane bypass in County Meath. The agency turned down the planned bridge and roads around the village because it was located too near to the World Heritage Site at Brú na Bóinne and Newgrange.
