HSE To Investigate Baby Death At Cavan Hospital
HSE is to carry out an investigation into the death of a baby who was born at Cavan General Hospital last week.
The boy, who was delivered by Cesarean section last Thursday, was transferred to a neo-natal unit in Dublin for treatment, where he later died.
The HSE has offered to support the childs parents.
A clinical review is being planned into the case.

HSE Launch Investigation Into Death Of Baby At Cavan Hospital
An investigation has been launched in to the death of a new born baby at Cavan General Hospital last month. The Health Service Executive have begun the investigation to try and establish the circumstances that led to the death. According to reports, a consultant at the hospital has been placed on administrative leave.

Man Dies In Co Cavan Lake
A man has died after he got into difficulties while swimming in a lake in Co Cavan. He had been swimming with friends at Knocknagarton lake at approximately 10pm on Monday. His body was recovered and was taken to Cavan General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigation Launched Into Woman's Death In Cavan
Gardai have launched an investigation after the body of a woman was found in a house in Cavan. It is understood that the body of the woman, believed to be in her forties, was discovered in a house just before midnight on Saturday. The body was taken to Cavan General Hospital and the state pathologist was notified.

Treatment Of Young Doctors Raised With Govt
The crisis surrounding how young hospital doctors are trained, recruited and treated has prompted demands for government to act. The Social Democrats co-leader Róisín Shortall TD raised the issue after the Medical Council's Your Training Survey uncovered problems regarding long working hours and bullying in the workplace.

Pensioner Dies In Co Monaghan Road Crash
A pensioner has died following a road collision in Co Monaghan. The two-vehicle incident occurred on the R188, Monaghan to Cootehill road, at Stranooden on Saturday. A passenger in one of the cars, a female aged in her 80s, was taken by ambulance to Cavan General Hospital, however she was later pronounced dead.
