Unemployment Rate Falls
Unemployment has dropped by 1.1%, according to the Central Statistics Office.
Year on year from the end of September unemployment was down by 3,600 to 324,500.
The Quarterly National Household Survey also revealed the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 14.8%.
Merrion economist Alan McQuaid the labour market remains very weak. The drop in emigration has been attributed to keeping unemployment figures down.
''That said, there have been positive job announcements in recent weeks which provide some grounds for optimism, and these latest figures are a sign that things are headed in the right direction, albeit slowly,'' he commented.

Unemployment Falls Almost 6% In The Year To June 2019
Ireland's unemployment rate remained unchanged in the month to June 2019, but is almost 6% lower than in June 2018. According to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO), the seasonally adjusted number of persons unemployed was 109,700 in June 2019 compared to 109,400 in May 2019.
