Chinese Woman To Face Charges Of Sexual Assault On Girls

The case of a Chinese woman who allegedly sexually assaulted two girls in a cinema has been fixed for hearing in the District Court later this month.

Judge Anthony Halpin told Yan Yuet Ching's solicitor, Kevin Tunney, that the court had "moved mountains" to have the case specially fixed for hearing in Court 13 in the Courts of Criminal Justice on December 18.

The court has videolink facilities, so the two alleged victims will be able to give evidence remotely.

42-year-old Ms Ching, with an address at Killery Terrace, Upper Dargle Road, Bray, Co Wicklow, has been in custody since the date of the alleged incident, on October 9.

She denies two counts of sexually assaulting the girls and two counts of assaulting the same girls at the IMC Cinema, The Square, Tallaght.

Tallaght District Court had heard it will be alleged there were only three people in the cinema when the assaults occurred.

Ms Ching allegedly stopped the girls and showed them her cinema ticket and asked them if she was sitting in the right seat.

She allegedly told them they were beautiful and asked if she could take their photographs.

The girls refused but Ms Ching allegedly took the photos anyway and touched their legs while she touched herself through her clothes.

The two girls went to leave and Ms Ching allegedly pulled one of the girls by the hair and tried to get her to come back.
