HSE To Hire Motivational Speaker For Management
Motivational coaches will be hired to give senior HSE managers a morale boost, the Irish Independent has reported.
The move will see qualified coaches being assigned to Health Service Executive managers “as and when required”.
In all 35 coaches are being hired at an as yet unknown cost.
A spokeswoman for the HSE said the coaches would be on hand primarily to help new senior managers on a one-to-one basis.
“The HSE has seen a significant reduction in the number of senior and middle managers over the past number of years through various redundancy and early retirement schemes and the current employment moratorium.
“A pilot succession management programme to identify suitable managers and provide on-the-job development for them has been put in place.
“The vast majority of this development is provided internally.
“However, in the short term there will be a requirement for a small amount of external coaching support.”
Under the plans, the services are being sought in all four HSE regions, with a maximum of 35 set to be assigned nationally.
In HSE Dublin Mid-Leinster and Dublin North East, a maximum of 15 coaches are set to be assigned and 10 coaches each will be assigned to the HSE West and HSE South.
Their services will support the HSE’s Succession Management Strategy and are necessary to address the significant challenges facing the Executive, the HSE said.
Following the first expression of interest stage, providers of specialized coaching services will be invited to submit tenders.
The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is January 8, according to the Irish Medical News.
According to the documents published by the body, those providing coaching services would be expected to foster talent development and leadership teams.
