Irishman Dies In Holiday Balcony Fall
An Irishman thought to be in his 40s has died in an accident on the Canary Island of Tenerife.
It is understood the as yet unnamed man fell from the balcony of a third-floor holiday apartment in the small resort of El Médano late on Tuesday night.
Initial reports said the handrail of the balcony gave way.
It is not known at this stage where he was from in Ireland.
Tenerife police have opened an investigation into his death and the Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance.

A woman was seriously injured after what gardaí have described as a 'domestic incident' in Dublin early this morning in which a man died. The Lithuanian man, 33, was taken to the Mater hospital with serious injuries after gardaí were called to The Hamptons at Santry Cross, Dublin 9.
