Man Arrested In Connection With Aggravated Burglary In Co Donegal

A man has been arrested in connection with the aggravated burglary at a pensioners home in Co Donegal at the weekend.

The 48-year-old male is currently being detained at Buncrana Garda station.

Margaret 'Greta' Lily was punched and had money taken from her during the burglary at her house in Aghilly.

She is currently under observation in Letterkenny General Hospital.

Garda are continuing to appeal for information and are askig anyone with information to contact them on 074-9320540.

Two Prison Officers Injured In Attack
Two prison officers have been injured in an unprovoked attack by an inmate at Mountjoy Prison, the Irish Prison Service has confirmed. The attack took place at approximately 8:30am on Thursday morning. The inmate, currently serving a four-year term for aggravated burglary, used an improvised weapon in the attack.

Elderly Couple Found Dead In Donegal
Two people have been found dead at a property in Carndonagh, Co Donegal, gardaí have said. Shortly after 9am on Thursday, detectives were called to the house. They found the bodies of a man and woman, both believed to be in their 70s, at the property. A hatchet was found at the scene.

80-Year-Old Man Injured During Aggravated Burglary
Gardaí in Malahide have issued an appeal for information following an aggravated burglary in Kettle's Lane, Swords, Co Dublin, on 29 July. Three men, believed to be carrying weapons, entered a house sometime between 3am and 4am on Friday, 29 July. They assaulted the homeowner, a man aged in his 80s, and demanded money.
