SIPTU To Attend Talks In Relation To Bus Eireann Dispute

SIPTU representatives will attend talks tomorrow, Friday 11th January, on the dispute at Bus Eireann following an invitation to unions and management by the Labour Relations Commission (LRC).

SIPTU Organiser, Willie Noone, said: "We see this as a positive development and will attend the conciliation process at the LRC."

Meanwhile, plans for strike action due to commence on Thursday 17th January will continue pending the outcome of the LRC discussions.

LRC And NBRU To Attend Talks Over Ongoing Dispute
The Labour Relations Commission (LRC) has invited senior management from Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus to attend talks at 3pm today, 11 May. It aims to resolve the ongoing dispute over the tendering of 10% of bus routes to private operators. General Secretary of the National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU), Dermot O'Leary, confirmed they would be attending.

Bookbinders sit-in enters tenth day
A sit-in by 14 staff members from Reilly Bookbinders at their premises in Wicklow town has entered its tenth day. The workers began their sit-in on July 18 after learning that the company was insolvent and was not going to pay them even statutory redundancy.

LRC Steps Into Vita Cortex Dispute
The Labour Relations Commission (LRC) has said it has been in touch with both workers and employers over the ongoing dispute over redundancy payments. Workers are continuing their sit in protest at the plant, which has last over a month, as they protest against receiving no redundancy payments after being let go.
