Woman Charged Over Death Of Christopher Payne
A woman has appeared in court charged in connection with the death of her husband in Dublin 25 years ago.
Christopher Payne was attacked at his home in Crumlin, Dublin, in 1988 by a gang of men armed with a hatchet.
Philomena Coton, 59, faces two charges, causing grievously bodily harm and assault with intent to murder.
She was remanded in custody and will appear in court next Wednesday.

Pair Remanded In Custody Over Dissident Republican Activity
Two men have appeared before the Special Criminal Court charged with the possession of two handguns in Dublin. Patrick Kennedy, 65, and Gary Yeung, 31, were arrested on James Street in Dublin on Saturday as part of ongoing investigations into dissident republican activity. Mr Kennedy was also charged with membership of an unlawful organisation.

Four men, originally from Crumlin, have become the first to charged under tough new laws to tackle organised crime. David Atkinson, 41, Gerard Carey, 33, Philip Kerfoot, 38, and Dwayne Stacey, 22, appeared in Dublin District Court and were the first to be charged with participating in the activities of a gang they knew existed.
