Ulster Bank Confirm Branch Closures
22 branches of Ulster Bank across the island of Ireland are to close, the bank has confirmed.
Eleven of the offices are located in the Republic, with those to be shut made up of five branches and six smaller sub-offices to go.
The other 11 are in the North.
All the branches are set to close by the summer – exactly a year since Ulster Bank was paralysed when its computer system crashed.
Ulster Bank announced in January 2012 it would cut 950 jobs, with 600 positions lost in the Republic.
Banking union the IBOA said it was not expected that any further job losses will come about as a result of confirmation of the closures.

The number of Ulster Bank customers affected by the tracker mortgage scandal has risen from 2,000 to 3,500. At a meeting of the Oireachtas Finance Committee this morning, 05 October, Ulster Bank executives confirmed that the number of people affected by the scandal had risen.

Protesters Force Closure Of Bank Of Ireland Branch
A Dublin branch of the Bank of Ireland closed its doors yesterday afternoon after a group of protestors took over the lobby. Seven members of the Occupy Dame Street protest group entered the lobby of the Bank of Ireland on O’Connell Street in Dublin at around 13:30 on Monday.
