167 Jobs For Dublin And Cork

Some 167 jobs are the be created in Cork and Dublin by five different companies and across a range of sectors including Information and Communications Technology, medical technology, financial services and digital media.

60 jobs will be created in Dublin following the establishment of 10gen’s European headquarters in Dublin.

17 jobs will be created in Cork by Loop1 Systems, with the establishment of a sales, customer support and technical centre providing training and professional services to multinational companies.

Another 35 jobs in Cork will be at Whitehouse Analytical Labs, an analytical testing facility, who have chosen Ireland for its first round of international expansion.

Also in Cork IMSTec GmbH, a provider of manufacturing solutions for the life sciences sector, is to establish a research and manufacturing competency, will create 35 jobs.

Dublin will see another 20 jobs at PE Lynch, a producer of algorithmic trading software for banks and brokers, who will establish its European headquarters in Dublin.

The investments are supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, through IDA Ireland.

Galway Firm To Create 100 New Jobs
A shed manufacturing company is to create 100 new jobs in Tuam, Co Galway. Steeltech Sheds is to relocate its business from Headford Road in Galway to the former Coca-Cola factory in Tuam and will recruit new staff between now and 2017. The company currently employs 100 staff at bases in Cork, Dublin, Carlow and Athlone.

Over 100 New Jobs Created For Cork And Galway
With the opening of two new Boots stores, the establishment of a European headquarters for Entercoms and the initiation of a second round of hiring by mobile innovation company Synchronoss, more than 100 new jobs are to be created in Cork and Galway. Pharmacy chain Boots is to open new stores in Cork and Galway, resulting in 27 new jobs.

Met Éireann Issues Weather Warning
A weather warning has been issued by Met Éireann and will be in place for most of the day (Friday). The yellow warning comes as up to 40mm of rain is due to fall today, with winds also reaching gale force. Rain is expected to move southeastwards throughout the day and will be heavy in places.

One-third of Ireland’s population lives in Dublin. An economically vibrant Dublin is therefore vital to Ireland’s overall economic and social well-being.

ICTU Anticipate 100,000 To Attend Debt Rallies
ICTU have said they hope to attract up to 100,00 people to nationwide demonstrations on Saturday 9 February in pursuit of a deal to lift Ireland's debt burden. Rallies in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Sligo and Waterford have been organised by the trade union, who have invited other groups in the community and voluntary sector to take part.
