FSAI Issues Warning Over Findus Beef Lasagne

The Food Standards Authority of Ireland (FSAI) is urging customers who bought Findus beef lasagne not to eat them.

The product was found to contain up to 100% horse meat.

In a statement the FSAI said: "The products have been withdrawn from sale from Tesco stores in Ireland, but may also be on sale in independent retail shops. Tests are currently underway to determine if the horse meat contains the veterinary medicine, phenylbutazone, commonly known as 'bute'."

The FSAI is calling on consumers to return the product back to the store they bought it from.
