GAA Officials Lose Ebay Auction To Win Back Medal

GAA officials in Galway have failed in an attempt to buy back a 2012 Leinster Championship medal after it was put up for sale on eBay.

The medal had been presented to one of the Galway panel after their win over Kilkenny last July.

It is understood that officials had been bidding on the medal and had remained the top bidder for most of the auction, however they were eventually outbid and the medal sold for €570.

While it is unknown who the owner and seller was, it is known that it did not belong to any of the team or subs who togged out for the clash against Kilkenny.

It was one of seven replica medals ordered by the Galway County Board for the remaining panel.
