Suspended Sentences For Pair In Katy French Death

A man and a woman have received suspended sentences in connection with the death of model Katy French in December 2007.

43-year-old Kieron Ducie, 43, of Lambertstown Manor, Kilmessan, Co Meath and 32-year-old Ann Corcoran of Tolka Road, Clonliffe Road, Dublin, both pleaded guilty to a single charge.

They admitted that between 6pm on 1 December 2007 and 10am on 2 December they procured a person to supply cocaine for the purpose of selling or otherwise supplying to another.

Sentencing Ducie to two-and-a-half years imprisonment, suspended for three years, and Corcoran to two years in prison, suspended for two years, Judge Michael O'Shea described the death of Ms French as a terrible tragedy.

61-Year-Old Convicted Over Money Lending And Tax Evasion
Officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) have welcomed the sentence handed down to 61-year-old Geoffrey Beggs at Antrim Crown Court on Tuesday 20 September. The 61-year-old was sentenced to 20 months suspended for two years for money lending; and 12 months suspended for two years for tax evasion.

Woman Given Suspended Sentence For Neglecting Children
A woman has been sentenced to four years for the “unnatural crime” of neglecting her own children. However, at Ennis Circuit Court, Judge Carroll Moran yesterday suspended the jail term for seven years on certain conditions.
