37 Year Minimum Term For Offaly Vet Murderer
Clive Sharp has been jailed for life, with a minimum sentence of 37 years, for the murder of Offaly vet Catherine Gowing.
A court heard how Ms Gowing had been tied up and raped before being murdered last year. The court heard details of the dismembering of Ms Gowing's body.
Ms Gowing was last seen alive on October 12.
Sharp had been in a relationship with an Irish friend and housemate of Ms Gowing's at the time of the murder.
Sharp was detained after evidence gathered from mobile phone cell information, CCTV and DNA found on the body of his victim.
Sharp pleaded guilty to killing MS Gowing.
Sentencing Sharpe at Mold Crown Court, Flintshire Wales,
Mr Justice Griffith Williams described Sharp as a very serious danger to women, and said he had carried out a horrific, cold-hearted murder to gratify his perverted sexual desires.

Catherine Gowing Murder Accused Remanded Until January
A man accused of murdering missing Offaly woman Catherine Gowing has appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court in Wales by video link from Altcourse prison in Liverpool. 46-year-old Clive Sharp spoke just to confirm his name and that he understood the proceedings. The case was adjourned until 7 January 2013, when Mr Sharp will be asked to enter a plea.

Catherine Gowing's Remains Identified
As a result of a post mortem carried out on Thursday 1st November on human remains found in the Manor Road area of Sealand on Wednesday October 31, North Wales Police have confirmed that they have now been positively identified as being Catherine Gowing's. The coroner for North East Wales, Mr John Gittins, has been notified of these results.

Ms Gowing's body has never fully been recovered, however remains were found near her home in New Brighton. Clive Sharp, 46, pleaded guilty to her murder at Molt Crown Court today.
