Two Hoax Devices Recovered In Limerick

Two hoax devices have been recovered during a search of a residence in Limerick on Wednesday night.

Two suspect devices were found during the search of a residence on Maiden Street, Newcastle West, shortly after 10pm.

A man in his 40’s has been arrested in connection with the find and is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Newcastle West Garda station.

The search was conducted as part of a planned operation, gardaí said.

The area around the house was evacuated and the Army's Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) team was notified. The devices were discovered to be hoaxes.

Arrests Made Over Suspect Devices Found In Cork
Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the discovery of a number of suspect devices found in Cork city last year. A man and a woman in their 30s were detained in Kells, Co Meath on Tuesday, while another man in his 20s was arrested in Mallow, Co Cork.
