Cannabis Worth €2m Seized And Three Arrested

Cannabis with an estimated value of almost €2m has been seized in counties Kildare and Dublin on Thursday afternoon.

Some €600,000 worth of the drugs were recovered when a van and a car were stopped by members of the Garda National Drugs Unit along with officers from the Organised Crime Unit at Castlewarden, Co Kildare.

Three men, aged 31,40 and 50, were arrested at the scene.

A follow-up search of a business premises in Cookstown, Tallaght in Dublin, uncovered a further €1.2m worth of cannabis.

The three men are being held at Clondalkin Garda Station.

Men Arrested Over Three Cannabis Seizures
Gardaí investigating three cannabis seizures in Co Offaly in the past week have arrested two men. Garda officers discovered cannabis plants worth an estimated €250,000 at a premises in Clonmore, Edenderry. This was followed by the seizure of cannabis plants worth an estimated €160,000 found in a vehicle near Tullamore on Thursday.

Woman Charged Over €75k Cannabis Seizure
A 34 year-old woman is due in court following the discovery of cannabis worth €75,000 in Athlone. The suspect is detained at Athlone Garda Station. She will appear before Athlone District Court today, Monday 20 January.

Cannabis Found In Wooded Area In Co Cavan
Cannabis worth an estimated €100,000 has been uncovered in a wooded area in Co Cavan. Gardaí confirmed they made the discovery on Tuesday at Drumgill. No one has been arrested in connection with the find, gardaí have said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
