Former Councillor Charged With Soliciting Murders
A former Fianna Fáil councillor, has been before Cork District Court charged with soliciting another person to murder three people.
Gary O'Flynn, 37, has been remanded in custody until Wednesday.
A bail application was refused by Judge Leo Malone.
It is alleged that he solicited a person to murder Det Garda Mary Skehan, Revenue Commissioner official George Ross and accountant Patrick Sweeney.
His father, Noel, is a former Fianna Fáil TD for Cork North Central.

Former Fianna Fáil TD Hugh Gibbons has died at the age of 91. Dr Gibbons served as a TD in Dáil Éireann for 12 years, from 1965-1977. Gibbons, who worked as a medical doctor before entering the world of politics, was elected on his first attempt when he stood as a Fianna Fáil candidate in the Roscommon constituency in the 1965 general election.

Fianna Fáil Councillor Dies At Donegal Rally
Tributes have been paid to Donegal Fianna Fáil Councillor Manus Kelly who died while competing at the Donegal International Rally. The motor racing champion, who had won the event for the last three years, was killed after his Hyundai i20 R5 left the road on stage 15 of Sunday's race.

Taoiseach To Examine Garda Allegations Documents 'Very Carefully'
Documents given to the Taoiseach Enda Kenny on Wednesday night by Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin have been described as containing "very serious allegations" about garda investigation. The Taoiseach, who said that Mr Martin was right to hand over the documents, adding that they would be examined "very carefully indeed".

A former Fianna Fáil TD and junior minister has appeared in court charged with submitting false invoices for mobile phones in Leinster House. Ivor Callely, 54, was arrested at his office in Dublin on Friday morning by garda from the Bureau of Fraud Investigation and brought before Dublin District Court.

Further FF Resignations Expected
After Bertie Aherns Saturday night resignation more are due to follow in the wake of the Mahon tribunal report. Facing expulsion from Fianna Fail Ahen and John Hannon resigned on Saturday night. The focus is currently on former European commissioner Pádraig Flynn of Fianna Fáil, who the tribunal found behaved corruptly.
