Deaths Of Father And Daughter A 'Tragic Accident'

Gardai have reported that they are treating the deaths of a father and daughter as a 'tragic accident'.

Their bodies were recovered from the sea in west Cork close to their home, following an extensive search on Wednesday.

They have been named as Martin McCarthy, 50, of Foilnamuck and his three-year-old daughter Clarissa.

Mr McCarthy's wife is currently being comforted by relatives.

An inquest is being held to try and established the cause of the deaths of a father and daughter in west Cork last March. The bodies of 50-year-old Martin McCarthy and his three-year-old daughter Clarissa were recovered from the sea near their home at Audley Cove outside Ballydehob.

Man Released In Relation To Killorglin Murder Investigation
A man arrested in relation to the murders of Jolanta Lubiene and her eight-year-old daughter Enrika in Killorglin, Co Kerry, has been released without charge. The two bodies were discovered in a house in Langford Downs Estate on 16th June. Garda are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Man Arrested For Double Murder Is Released
A man in his 40s, arrested in connection with the murder of Jolanta Lubiene, 27, and her eight-year-old daughter Enrika in Killorglin, Co Kerry, has been released without charge. The two bodies were discovered in a house in Langford Downs Estate on 16 June. A file will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
