Major Illegal Fuel Investigation Underway

Nineteen premises in 10 counties have been searched in a major investigation into illegal fuel and the activities of a Co Louth-based criminal gang.

The Criminal Assets Bureau, along with gardaí and Revenue personnel searched houses, warehouses and business premises on Wednesday morning.

The cross border operation, involving a number of agencies from Northern Ireland, led to the seizure of computers, documents and bank statements.

The searches were carried out in Louth, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Waterford, Offaly, Roscommon, Westmeath, Meath and Tipperary.

Organised Crime Op Leads To 14 Arrests
An investigation into organized crime has led to the arrest of a total of 14 people in County Calow, Meath and Wexford. Gardaí said on Monday the arrests were part of an ongoing investigation into organised criminal activity and drug trafficking in the South East of the country.

80 Arrested In Dublin Drug Operation
Some 80 arrests have been made in the past 48 hours in a mass drug operation in Dublin. Detectives from the Garda National Drugs Unit working closely with local Garda units from the greater Dublin area searched over 100 premises in the past 48 hours and arrested 80 people suspected of involvement in the sale and supply of Heroin and Cocaine.

Man Arrested After Drugs Seizure
A man has been arrested following the seizure of a quantity of cannabis in Dublin. According to Gardaí, the search and arrest were conducted as a result of a planned operation this morning.

Cars Seized And Man Arrested In Limerick Operation
Members of the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) have seized a number of vehicles as part of an operation in County Limerick. A quantity of suspected cocaine worth around €20,000 was also uncovered. A 42-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday morning, 12 February, and is being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Ireland-wide Crackdown On Cigarette Smugglers
The pressure is increasing on cigarette smugglers with officers from the Irish Republic's Revenue's Customs Service yesterday seizing a total of 34,000 cigarettes that were being brought into the country illegally.
