Two Arrested Following Cash In Transit Robbery

Garda investigating an armed robbery at Clare Hall Shopping Centre on the Malahide Rd in Dublin have arrested two men.

It is thought that an armed man approached and threatened a cash-in-transit employee to hand over a cash box at 10.30am, before fleeing the scene in a waiting car.

Two men, aged 28 and 29, were arrested by garda after they received reports that they were acting suspiciously on the N32.

The garda helicopter, garda dog unit and armed units were used during the search.

Money, the cash box and a firearm were recovered.

A burnt out car was located a short time later.

Gunman Arrested In Dublin
Gardai in Dublin have arrested a man after an attempted armed robbery of a pub in Chapelizod, early this morning. Officers were called to The Villager pub at around 1am. The man, armed with a shotgun, was demanding cash from the barman when two gardai entered. The gunman turned his weapon on one of the officers, who disarmed him and made an arrest.

Man Arrested And Released In Garda Station Money Theft Investigation
A man arrested on Thursday morning in connection with €9,000 missing from Balbriggan Garda Station has been released without charge. The money was part of €26,000 recovered by gardaí after it was stolen during an armed robbery at Lusk post office in January.

Man Arrested Over Armed Robbery Of Supermarket
A 32-year-old man has been arrested over an armed robbery in a supermarket in County Meath. It is understood the man entered the Dunboyne supermarket at about 18:20 on Wednesday evening, threatening staff with a firearm and demanding cash. The man fled the scene in a black car, which garda later stopped in Ashbourne.

Gardai Investigate Robbery In Limerick
Gardai are investigating a robbery which in Limerick this morning on Wednesday morning. A man entered a hotel on Dock Road and threatened the receptionist with a syringe. He fled the scene with a cash box. Gardai pursued the man along Windmill Apartments where he was arrested. The 30 year old is currently being held at Henry Street Garda Station.
