Man Arrested In Connection With Kilkenny Death
Garda investigating the death of Anthony Barrett have arrested a Kilkenny man.
Mr Barrett, who was in his 40s and originally from Castlecomer, was found with fatal injuries at a house in Fatima Place on the evening of 7 March.
It is understood that he had been living in another part of the city, but had been drinking that day with a man in the city.
Bruising to parts of Mr Barrett's body lead to gardaí trying to find out if he was the victim of an assault.
However, Mr Barrett may also have suffered a fall at the house that day or on a previous day.
This morning gardaí arrested a Kilkenny man, also in his 40s, for questioning in relation to the death.
He can be questioned for 24 hours.

'Enough' To Protest At Allied Irish Bank
As part of their 'Enough' campaign a protest will take place this morning outside the EGM of Allied Irish Banks Headquarters in Ballsbridge, Dublin. The protest will get underway as shareholders meet there today to decide on a plan to inject €5 billion from the National pension Reserve Fund into the crisis-ridden bank.

The Irish Anti-War movement has launched a campaign for a 'No' vote on the Lisbon treaty over concerns of even greater European armament. The campaign will begin with a conference in Dublin this weekend in the Royal Dublin Hotel, O’Connell Street, and will include a number of international speakers opposed to the treaty.

Dublin Pub Gun Victim Remains Critical
One of the men injured in a shooting incident outside a pub in Fairview in Dublin yesterday morning is still in a critical condition in Beaumont Hospital. A second man, who was also shot in the incident, is in a critical but stable condition at the Mater Hospital.
