Fitzpatrick Trial Unlikely Before 2014
The trial of former Anglo Irish Bank chairman Sean FitzPatrick is unlikely to happen before the end of 2014.
The 64-year-old is facing a total of 12 charges in connection with financial irregularities at the bank over a six-year period. He has yet to enter a plea.
Mr FitzPatrick first appeared at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court when the charges were sent forward from the District Court earlier this month.
Judge Mary Ellen was told that Mr FitzPatrick is "ultimately" likely to take a trial date. She told the court that his will probably be towards the end of 2014.

40% Rise On Number Of Patients Left On Hospital Trolleys
There has been a 40% increase in the number of patients left on trolleys compared to August 2014, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO). The INMO has repeated its call for an immediate meeting of the High Level Implementation Group to agree further measures to alleviate the crisis.

Students who yesterday received their Leaving Cert results have been urged to "remember that they have plenty of options." Former teacher and Fine Gael Dun Laoghaire TD Mary Mitchell O’ Connor, said that while results day will have been "a very good day" for most students, there will have been some disappointed with the results.
