Wind Turbine 'Snaps' In Storm
A €1.5m turbine at a wind farm in Co Donegal has collapsed during a storm – as forecasters warned of more bitterly cold weather and snow until Easter.
The 64m-high turbine 'snapped' and fell over in the remote townland of Maas, between the Co Donegal villages of Glenties and Ardara.
Both the owners of the site, a group of Dublin investors and Donegal County Council have launched an investigation following the collapse. Vestas is expected to send engineers to inspect the wreckage later this week.
