Novartis To Establish New Dublin Business Centre

IDA Ireland has welcomed the decision by Novartis to establish a business services centre in Dublin.

Barry O'Leary, CEO at IDA Ireland said: "We welcome the decision by Novartis, a key strategic IDA client, to establish a Business Services Centre at their Novartis Beech Hill Campus in Dublin."

Novartis is the world's second largest pharmaceutical company and has significant existing operations in Ireland.

Nine of the top ten global and 25 of the top 50 global pharmaceutical companies have operations in Ireland - predominantly involved in development and manufacturing (D+M).

IDA Ireland has already attracted a number of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies to establish business services centres in Ireland - these include - Pfizer, Merck, Lilly, Gilead, Aspen, Shire and Allergan.

IDA Ireland Employment Up 8% In 2015
New figures from IDA Ireland have revealed that almost 6,000 new jobs were added to the Dublin economy in 2015, an increase of 8% on 2014. Welcoming the news, Fine Gael TD for Dublin South Central, Catherine Byrne, said the positive employment figures show that continued job creation will keep the recovery going in Dublin.

Over 187,000 People Employed By Overseas Companies - IDA Ireland
Over 187,000 people are now employed by overseas companies, IDA Ireland has revealed. The announcement marks the highest level of employment in IDA's client companies in the organisation's 67-year history. Overall, total employment stands at 187,056, with IDA companies creating 18,983 jobs on the ground during 2015.
