Three Arrested Over Knife-Point Hold-Ups

Three people have been arrested in connection with a spate of knife-point robberies in Dublin.

Two women and a man were detained by garda during a planned operation in Blanchardstown, west Dublin.

The three are being questioned about robberies in three shops in the area over the past two weeks, in which shopkeepers were threatened with knives.

It is understood that the man and one woman are in their 20s, while the second woman is in her late 30s.

They are being held at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing for help in tracing missing Dublin man Greg Ward. Mr Ward, 31, was last seen in Blanchardstown on Sunday 3 May. He is described as being 6'2" in height and has a vast amount of tattoos and piercings over his body. Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

A judge has suspended the final three years of a man's 12-year rape sentence on condition he completes a Leaving Cert. 36-year-old Gerard Kane, formerly of Dominic Street in Dún Laoghaire in Dublin, twice raped a woman after breaking into her home in June 2011.

Five Teens Arrested Over Dublin Robberies
Five males aged between 14 and 19-years-old have been arrested by gardaí from Mountjoy, Finglas & Blanchardstown Garda stations investigating a number of robberies in the West Dublin area on 9 January. The five males were detained at Blanchardstown and Finglas Garda Stations yesterday.

Man Being Question Over Dublin Death
A man is still being questioned in connection with the death of a 46-year-old woman in Dublin on Tuesday. The mother of three was found with stab wounds at a house in La Verna Dale in Castlerock in west Dublin yesterday morning and she was admitted to hospital where she later died. The woman had three children aged nine, six and three-years-old.

More Than €200m Secured For New Dublin Housing
More than €240 million has been secured for housing in Dublin city over the next three years, it has been revealed. Last May, Dublin City Council announced that €45m had been secured for local authority housing construction in 2015.
