Jim Corr To Appear In Commercial Court Over Bank Debt

Musician Jim Corr has been ordered to appear before Commercial Court in May over a €1.4m debt to ACC Bank.

He is to be cross-examined by lawyers, and the court heard his solicitors were no longer representing him as they were unable to get adequate instructions.

The bank's lawyers say they have been trying to enforce the judgment and he to be cross-examined on 15th May.

Jim Corr Sought Over €1.3m Debt
Musician Jim Corr and an associate are the subject of a legal action in the High Court brought by a bank seeking a €1.3million unpaid debt. The court heard yesterday the ACC Bank has began legal action against the alleged debt, serving court documents on Jim Corr at his home in Bangor, Co Down.

Judge To Rule Again On Zoe Protection
Eamon Carroll's troubled property group Zoe is to go back to the High Court today to find out if it will be allowed a fourth bid to gain court protection. Mr Justice Frank Clarke last week again rejected an application from the heavily indebted group for the appointment of an examiner to seven of the Zoe companies.

New Name For Northern Bank
Danske Bank has announced a new organisational set-up for its operations in Northern Ireland and Ireland. The new structure will take effect on 1 June 2012. The re-organisation mirrors a similar Group wide set-up being introduced in all Danske Bank operations.

Four Star Pizza Appoints Examiner
Takeaway food chain, Four Star Pizza, has been appointed an examiner in the High Court yesterday. The popular pizza chain, owned by parent company Zowington, is insolvent and has sought protection at the High Court from its major creditor, National Irish Bank.

Central Bank Concerned By Ulster Bank Delays
The Central Bank of Ireland has said it is concerned by the "unacceptable continuing delays by Ulster Bank in fully resolving its systems issues and the consequent impact on its customers".
