Top Civil Servants Refuse To Support Proposed New Agreement
Higher civil servants have rejected the proposed new Croke Park Agreement.
Members of the Association of Higher Civil and Public Servants voted against the agreement, with 85% refusing to support the agreement.
However members of BATU voted in favour of the deal.
Members from the Operative Plasterers and Allied Trade Society of Ireland (OPATSI) also backed the deal.
The Teachers’ Union of Ireland, the Medical Laboratory Scientists Association and the Technical Engineering and Electrical Union have already rejected the deal.

According to research published by the agency this morning, 33% of people who bought something through an online deal site said they had a reason to be dissatisfied.

The Tanaiste has been greeted by an eerie silence at the Teachers' Union of Ireland conference today during her address on the new public sector pay deal. Minister for Education Mary Coughlan told delegates in Ennis today that without economic recovery the Government would be unable to finance public services.

TUI To Recommend Members Reject Pay Agreement Plans
The Teachers' Union of Ireland (TUI) is to recommend that members reject the new pay agreement plans. A ballot of TUI members will take place in the autumn. TUI President Gerry Quinn said that the failure of the proposals to allay a number of significant concerns was strongly expressed in an Executive Committee meeting.

Ireland Claims Reach €500m
The cost of claims against the state by the public has reached €500 million. The figures released yesterday show the level of claims has meant the government has had to set aside half a billion euro to be able to match the level of claims.

Agreement Reached With ASTI On Haddington Road Agreement
Following the Association of Secondary Teachers re-entering formal talks over the disputed Haddington Road agreement it has been reported that an agreement has been reached. According to reports ASTI reached an agreement following talks with the Department of Education, which will now be put to a ballot of the unions 17,000 members.
