PSEU Vote In Favour Of Croke Park II

61% of the Public Service Executive Union, representing mid-ranking civil servants, have voted to accept the Croke Park II proposals.

With a turnout of 74%, 61% voted in favour and 39% against.

General Secretary Tom Geraghty said that after a vigorous debate union members had made a difficult choice and had voted for certainty over uncertainty.

However, he warned that this must be the last occasion on which public servants are targeted as they cannot continue to be expected to carry a disproportionate share of the country's burden.

To date eight other public service union have rejected the Croke Park II proposals.
