Man Arrested And Released In Garda Station Money Theft Investigation

A man arrested on Thursday morning in connection with €9,000 missing from Balbriggan Garda Station has been released without charge.

The money was part of €26,000 recovered by gardaí after it was stolen during an armed robbery at Lusk post office in January.

€9,000 was discovered to be missing when the owner of the cash arrived at the station to collect it. A small tear was found in the bag.

The money has not been recovered.

Book Of Condolence Opens For Lenihan
A book of condolence has opened this morning at Government Buildings for the late Brian Lenihan. He passed away on Friday after his health deteriorated due to the pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed in 2009, and left hospital to be cared for close to his family. The public are welcome to sign the book from 9am until 6pm this evening.

Money And Firearm Recovered Following Armed Robbery
Cash and a firearm has been recovered following an armed bank raid in Donnybrook, Dublin. According to Gardaí two men entered the Bank of Ireland on Stillorgan Road at around 11.30, threatening staff with a firearm.

Men Arrested During Larne And Ballyclare Search Operations
