Law Change To Allow Internet Pharmacy Sales
A change to the laws on internet pharmacy will allow consumers to buy common medicines online.
The Irish Times has reported that a new online pharmacy will only operate within the Republic, meaning it will still be illegal for patients to buy drugs online from overseas suppliers.
The changes will also only apply to over the counter drugs and not prescription medicines.
It is expected that the move will allow for greater competition on pricing for over the counter medication, which is currently not controlled.
