Bus Eireann Union Threatens To Strike On Sunday

Members of the National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU) have threatened to strike this weekend which will effect Bus Eireann services.

The firm has said it will begin cost cutting measures from Sunday.

The union has said it will take immediate action if these measures come into effect.

The Labour Court has recommended that significant reductions in the company's base including payroll costs are essential to ensure its future.

Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has said the viability of Bus Éireann can only be secured if savings are agreed.
