Emergency Departments At Two More Hospitals To Close

24-hour emergency departments are to be closed at two more hospitals as part of a major restructuring to the States hospital services.

According to the Irish Independent, the emergency departments at St Columcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown, Dublin and Navan Hospital in Co Meath will close, to be replaced by local injury units.

It follows the publication of a government report of a major revamp of small hospitals across the country, with seven others, Dundalk, Mallow, Bantry, Ennis, Nenagh, St John's, Limerick, and Roscommon to undergo changes also.
