Sheep Shot Dead In Co Wicklow

The shooting dead of seven sheep in Wicklow is being investigated by garda, amid speculation that a trained marksman is responsible.

Quoting the sheeps owner, Eoin Brady, the Irish Times reported his comment from the Wicklownews.net in which he says: "This is the work of a trained marksman, they were all shot in the heart, lung region and were shot with a high powered centre fire rifle."

The dead sheep were discovered by Mr Brady on Tuesday afternoon.

The Irish Times said garda confirmed that their investigation was ongoing.

They also reported that 12 sheep were shot dead some two years ago in the same area.
