Call For All Crèche Inspection Reports To Be Published Immediately

Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Children, Robert Troy TD, has called on the Minister for Children Frances Fitzgerald to direct the HSE to publish all crèche inspection reports immediately.

Deputy Troy commented: "For everybody's sake we need full disclosure and transparency right away. There is enormous anxiety and stress among parents right now. Reports today that children were kept strapped in chairs in some creches will add to the deep concern and unease.

"Against this background, the notion that the HSE would withhold information on inspections or refuse to say when they will be published is simply unacceptable.

"Minister Fitzgerald and the government must act immediately to ensure that this does not happen. To do otherwise would only serve to compound the worry and disquiet that is out there."
