Fire Breaks Out On Belfast To Dublin Train
An investigation has been launched after a fire broke out in the engine compartment of the Belfast to Dublin Enterprise train on Thursday evening.
There were 114 passengers onboard when the fire broke out around 18:05 on Thursday. The driver pulled the train up at Gorawood, a disused station north of Newry.
The train passengers were eventually transported on to Dublin by replacement train provided by Irish Rail, arriving around 1am.
Some were critical that the passengers were not moved by bus, but waited almost four hours for a replacement train.
