New €8m Hospital Opens In Co Kerry

A new 40-bed community hospital has opened today, replacing the existing 24-bed facility in Kenmare, Co Kerry.

Local campaigners have lead a 30-year campaign to improve the town's hospital.

The old hospital will now be demolished to make way for car parking at the new €8 million facility, which will also provide a mental health day care unit and a new ambulance base.
