33-Year-Old Admits Murder Of Two Women And Two Children

33-year-old John Geary has pleaded guilty to the murders of two woman and two children in Co Limerick in November 2010.

Geary of Meadow Court, Newcastle West, pleaded guilty to each charge when he was arraigned on the murders of his former partner Ms Hines, five-month-old Amy, three-year-old Reece and a family friend, Alicia Brough.

The two woman and children were found at a house in Hazelgrove on the 15 November 2010. All four had been stabbed to death.

Geary was arrested the following day.

Sentencing was adjourned until 08 July.

Unemployment Rise Faltering

Seasonally adjusted figures show the Live Register fell by 500 during April, to stand at 432,500 at the end of the month.

Report Finds Drop In Children Smoking And Drinking
According to a new report published by the Department of Health, fewer children are smoking, drinking and using cannabis. The review, carried out by NUI Galway, found that significantly less school-aged children were smoking, with just 12% in 2010 compared to 21% in 1998.

Three Arrested Over McAnaspie Murder
Three men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Meath teenager who went missing in February, this year. Gardai investigating the murder of Daniel McAnaspie said they have this morning arrested the three men in the Blanchardstown area.

Child Pornography Case Adjourned For Second Time
The trial of a Co Mayo man who possessed on of the largest collections of pornography ever found by gardaí has been adjourned a second time to allow for further psychiatric evaluation. 58-year-old James Clarke had a total of 135,555 images and videos on his computer, including images described as showing severe child sex abuse.
