Arrests Made After €400,000 Cannabis Seizure

Garda in Co Galway have arrested two men following the seizure of cannabis with an estimate value of €400,000.

Officers from the National Drugs Unit carried out a search of a private residence in Tuam, Co Galway, at around 17:00 on Tuesday, uncovering 20kg of the drug.

Two men, aged 49 and 41, were arrested at the scene. Garda have described the arrest of the 49-year-old man as 'significant'.

Cannabis Cultivation Facility Uncovered In Co Galway
Gardaí in Co Galway have arrested two men in connection with the discovery of 120 cannabis plants during a search of a house at Kilgarve Court in Ballinsloe. The discovery was made when garda searched the house on Sunday morning, also recovering a quantity of harvested cannabis. Garda estimated that the drugs were worth €100,000.

Two Arrests As €178k Cash & €50k Drugs Seized In Galway
Gardaí have made two arrests in connection with the seizure of €178,500 in cash and cocaine worth €50,000 in Galway. A number of drug manufacturing components were also discovered during the intelligence led operation into the sale and supply of drugs in the area on Sunday evening, 19 January.

Teen Rescued From Island By Galway RNLI
Galway RNLI have rescued a 19-year-old man from an island off Silver Strand. The teenager had become stranded in an area called Grey Rock by the rising tide at about 19:45 on Wednesday. A kayaker who spotted the teenager and raised the alarm.

Eight Unused Garda Stations Go Under The Hammer
Eight former garda stations are going under the hammer at a public auction in Dublin. It is understood that there has been strong interest in the building, some of which were only vacated recently, with others sitting unused for decades. The stations are located in counties Galway, Cork, Longford, Leitrim, Tipperary and Wexford.
