Elderly Sisters Attacked During Burglary

A pair of elderly sisters have been attacked in a burglary at their home in Co Donegal.

91-year-old Isobel Arthur and her 89-year-old sister Susan were attacked by two men at their home in Feddyglass, Rephoe at around 17:00 on Monday.

It is understood that Isobel was in the garden when she saw two men walk past her house. When she went to look she found the men in the house and her sister on the ground.

The men ransacked the house but left empty handed. The elderly sisters were locked inside the property.

According to reports a panic button worn around Isobel's neck didn't work as the phone line was pulled out. She had to go to the main road to flag down help.

Susan was treated at for a broken hip at Letterkenny General Hospital .

An investigation is underway.

Three Die In Separate House Fires
Two men and a woman have died in three separate house fires in Limerick and Kerry. In the latest incident, a man in his 60s died following a house fire in Tralee in Co Kerry. The fire broke out in the terraced house in Connolly Park at about 9.30pm yesterday. Gardaí were called to the scene at around 9.

Three Arrest Over Youtube Driving Video
Three men are being questioned by gardaí and two cars have been seized after a video posted on YouTube showed a group of young men from Nenagh, Co Tipperary, driving dangerously on a country road. The video, clearly displays the registration plates of the cars along with the faces of the young men involved, who are each identified by nickname.
