Anonymous Winner Collects €94m Euromillions Cheque

An anonymous winner of the Euromillions has collected their €94 million prize, becoming Ireland's 96th richest person.

The winner shared a €187 million prize, the second largest in the history of the National Lottery, with another person in Belgium.

The winner was quoted by RTÉ as saying: “The news is still sinking in so for the moment I'd like to keep the win private. I'm looking forward to thinking about all the opportunities that are now open to me. It's a really exciting time!"

The name of the shop that sold the winning ticket is to be released.

National Lottery Statistics Show €90m In Unclaimed Winnings
The latest figures released by the National Lottery have revealed that some €90 million in prizes and jackpots have gone unclaimed over the past five years. Nearly €17 million in prizes went uncollected last year alone and remains in the accounts of the National Lottery.
