Illegal Cigarettes Uncovered In Co Tipperary

Some €21,000 worth of illegal cigarettes have been recovered by the Revenue Customs Service.

The haul was uncovered at two premises in Roscrea, Co Tipperary, on Thursday night and represents a potential loss to the Exchequer of some €18,000.

A number of people were questioned in connection with the find and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

More Than 20,000 Cigarettes Seized In Co Tipperary
More than 20,000 cigarettes and a quantity of rolling tobacco have been seized by Revenue Officers in Co Tipperary. The seizure was made when officers stopped and searched a car in Golden, Co Tipperary on the morning of Wednesday, 10 February.

Man Charged With The Murder Of Bobby Ryan
A 49-year-old man is due to appear before Tipperary District Court charged in connection with the murder of Bobby Ryan. Father-of-two Bobby Ryan of Boherlahan, Cashel, Co Tipperary was reported missing to Tipperary Town Gardaí on 3 June 2011. His remains were found concealed in an underground concrete tank on a farm at Fawnagowan, on 30 April 2013.

Appeal Issued For Missing Tipperary Man
Gardaí have appealed for help in tracing missing Tipperary man John Esmonde. The 38-year-old has been missing since around 22:00 on Wednesday 11 March. When last seen he was wearing a dark jacket, blue denim trousers and a black woollen hat. He is believed to have been carrying a brown shopping bag.

Minister Opens North Tipperary Agricultural Show
The North Tipperary Agricultural show has been officially opened in Nenagh, County Tipperary. Speaking at the opening event, the Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Shane McEntee, highlighted the important role that Agricultural shows can play within Irish communities.

Suspicious Devices And Firearm Uncovered In Co Laois
The Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal team were called to an incident near Mountrath, Co Laois, after garda uncovered a number of suspicious devices. It is understood that garda stopped and searched a car on the M7 at about about 18:00 on Thursday, and found a firearm and "a number of suspicious devices".
