Gardaí Recruitment To Begin Again In 2014
Garda recruitment is to begin again in 2014, the minister for justice Alan Shatter has announced.
The announcement was made during the Graduation for Garda Reservists, at Garda College, Templemore today (Monday).
He said that some 27,000 people had expressed and interest in joining the Gardaí but would not say how many garda positions would become available.
He added that he was anxious the strength of the force does not drop below 13,000.

Man Arrested In Connection With 2014 Saggart Murder
A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Andy Connors in August 2014. Mr Connors was shot a number of times at Boherboy, Saggart, Co Dublin on 19 August, 2014. Garda investigating the murder arrested a man in west Dublin this morning, 24 May.

Gardaí Arrest Man In Donegal Wanted By PSNI
Gardaí in Co Donegal have arrested a man wanted in connection with a murder in Belfast. A man aged in his 40s was arrested in the South Donegal area on Wednesday at about 09:15. It is understood that he is wanted in connection with a PSNI investigation into the murder of a man on 24 October 2014.

A man arrested in connection with the murder of Michael Devoy has been released without charge. The body of the 41-year-old, from Ballymun in Dublin, was found at Foxhill on 18 January 2014. A man in his 20s was being questioned by officers at Tallaght Garda Station. He has since been released. A file is being prepared for the DPP.

40% Rise On Number Of Patients Left On Hospital Trolleys
There has been a 40% increase in the number of patients left on trolleys compared to August 2014, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO). The INMO has repeated its call for an immediate meeting of the High Level Implementation Group to agree further measures to alleviate the crisis.
