Garda Hunt For Three Men After Knife Point Robbery

The hunt is on for three men who allegedly broke into an elderly couples home, where they were assaulted and robbed at knife point on the weekend in Co Westmeath.

Gardai have said that the incident took place in the early hours of Sunday at the home of a 75-year-old man and his wife who is in her 80s.

It is understood that the couple were threatened with a knife before a sum of money was handed over.

Gardaí are now searching for the three men and an investigation is underway.

Three Arrested Over Knife-Point Hold-Ups
Three people have been arrested in connection with a spate of knife-point robberies in Dublin. Two women and a man were detained by garda during a planned operation in Blanchardstown, west Dublin. The three are being questioned about robberies in three shops in the area over the past two weeks, in which shopkeepers were threatened with knives.

Three Men Arrested In Connection With Suspected Armed Robbery
Three men have been arrested in connection with a suspected armed robbery at a shop in Bawnogue Shopping Centre, Clondalkin. Two masked men threatened shop staff with a suspected firearm and fled the scene with a sum of cash. When the suspects left they were seen going in the direction of the Lealand estate.

Woman Released In Longford Murder Investigation
The woman being held by Gardaí in connection with the death of Sharon Coughlan, has been released without charge. Gardaí in Co Longford arrested three people yesterday. Two men, aged 19 and 28, were still in custody this morning. It is understood their period of detention has been extended.

Dundalk Gardaí Appeal After Knife-Point Robbery
An investigation is underway after a family in Dundalk were robbed at knife-point. Gardaí said three masked men forced their way into the Dundalk family home of a restaurant owner. His wife and three children were also home at the time.
