Man Dies In Co Cork Road Crash

Gardaí have reported that a 47-year-old man has died in a single vehicle road crash near Charleville, Co Cork.

The crash happened at around 21:30 last night in Boulard.

It is believed that the vehicle struck a tree before hitting a ditch. The victim was pronounced dead the scene. No other vehicles were involved.

A passenger in the car was injured and is being treated in hospital.

The road currently remains closed as a gardaí forensic crash investigator examines the site. Diversions are in place.

Garda have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Charleville Garda station on 063-81222.

Man Questioned Over Fatal Road Crash In Co Mayo
Garda have detained a man in connection with a fatal road crash in Co Mayo on Sunday, 08 May. A 41-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his bike collided with a van on the N26 at Ballinahaglush at around 3.45pm. A man was arrested and is being detained at Ballina Garda Station.

Six Questioned Following Road Crash
Six men have been arrested and are being questioned by gardaí following a three-car collision. The incident happened at around 6.40pm on Tuesday, in Termonfeckin, Co Louth. A man and woman sustained injuries, not believed to be life-threatening in the accident, and were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment.
