Social Welfare Payments Delayed

A "once off processing issue" will cause a one day delay in social welfare payments, the Department of Social Protection has announced.

The social welfare payments are made electronically directly into the recipients bank account, but almost 33,000 will have until tomorrow to receive a payment due today.

The payment affected include the domiciliary care allowance, illness benefit, jobseeker's benefit and jobseeker's allowance.
