75 Jobs Created In New 'Connect' Scheme

A new employment initiative, which offers financial rewards to individuals who bring new project to Ireland, will create 75 new jobs in Laois, Galway and Longford.

Under the scheme, 50 jobs will be created by Magni Group, with a new manufacturing plant for automotive coating near Portarlington, Co Laois.

Fifteen jobs will be created in Co Galway by maritime consultancy company, Flagship Management, while a further 10 jobs will come from Ark Energy Consulting, who are moving their energy trading risk management business to Longford.

According to RTÉ, some of the people behind establishing the link between the employers and Connect Ireland, could be paid up to €75,000.

New Distillery Construction Underway In Dublin
The construction of a new distillery in Dublin is underway. The new Teeling Whiskey Company distillery will be built in The Liberties, and will see some 100 jobs created during construction.

250 New Jobs For Co Galway
Two hundred and fifty new jobs are to be created in Co Galway by medical devices manufacturer, Zimmer. The company will create the jobs over the next five years as part of an expansion, with a new €51m facility in Oranmore.

Status Yellow Rainfall Warning Issued Across 11 Counties
Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow weather warning for rain across 11 counties. The warning, which came into effect at 7am this morning, is in place for Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. The warning will remain in place until 6am tomorrow, when it will be reviewed.
